Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have a physical location?
Nope. We are as free as the wind. We come to you.
What kinds of training do you offer?
We specialize in private, in-home training and day training programs. That means we either coach you and your dog together, or Jen works with your dog during the day and then teaches you how to keep the good habits going. We don’t offer group classes or board-and-train—our approach is highly personal and rooted in relationship, not one-size-fits-all obedience.
What’s the difference between training and behavior consulting?
Great question! Private training is for things like leash skills, polite greetings, and basic manners. Behavior consulting is for more complex concerns, like reactivity, anxiety, or fear-based behaviors. Jen is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC) with over 20 years of experience, so you’re in good hands either way
What areas to do you service?
We’re located in Winston-Salem, NC. However, we provide services to Greensboro and the Triad. Areas outside of WS are subject to a trip charge of $10-$20. When possible, we schedule all clients in distant locations for a specific day to offset the gas costs and eliminate the trip charge.
How soon can we get started?
Our schedule fills up fast, especially during spring and fall. If you’re ready to get rolling, fill out our contact form, and we’ll reach out with availability and next steps.
Do you offer a free consultation before I commit to training?
Not exactly—but for good reason. Creating a dog training plan or behavior program requires time and a genuine understanding of your dog. This typically takes an hour or more. For example, our behavior consulting process begins with a 90-minute behavior consultation, during which Jen will assess your dog’s needs and create a customized plan tailored to your team. This session is packed with actionable advice and next steps, not just a sales pitch. You’ll walk away with a plan, not a pamphlet.
Coverage Area
We serve the Winston-Salem, NC, area and its surrounding communities. In some cases, like Greensboro, we have a specific day to schedule clients. On these days, no trip charge is applied. If you’re located on the yellow-ish side of the map, you may be subject to a trip charge, or in some cases, we can settle on a cup of coffee. We’re flexible, but gas isn’t cheap.
