Dog Behavior Consulting
FOR THAT, “OH CRAP” MOMENT
BEHAVIOR HELPLINE
This virtual consultation is designed to troubleshoot your dog’s behavior concerns quickly and effectively. This session focuses on identifying issues and implementing management strategies to reduce unwanted behaviors. If we determine during the consult that your dog needs more in-depth attention or an in-person visit, we’ll transition to a full behavior consultation.
DOG BEHAVIOR CONSULTATION
Jennifer Thornburg, Certified Dog Behavior Consultant, conducts all 1.5-hour initial in-home consultations.
- Detailed functional assessment of the dog, lifestyle, routine, behavioral history, previous training, prioritized client goals, and treatment plan
- Educational discussion and material on canine behavior and stress
- Discussion on management active and/or passive prevention strategies to reduce unwanted behaviors
- Follow-up appointments will be recommended to provide continued learning and support.
Dog Training Services
DOG AND HUMAN TRAINING
This is for a new puppy or a dog without behavioral concerns. This session will discuss ways to set your new dog up for success and train foundation behaviors. Some things we may cover:
- Basic training principles
- House and crate training
- Leash Manners (If your dog is barking, lunging, or growling on-leash, please schedule a behavior consultation)
- Manners around the house
- Attention to cues, sit, stay, down, go to your mat, recall, tricks
VIRTUAL CONSULTATION
During this virtual session, we will discuss concerns and goals, and I will assess your dog and make appropriate recommendations for management and training.
- Management strategies to reduce unwanted behavior, a training plan tailored to you and your dog, and email support are included.
FOLLOW UP SESSION
An initial consult is required before purchasing or utilizing a follow-up session. During this follow-up session, we will discuss your progress, refine your training, set training goals, and celebrate successes. It can be selected for training or behavior services.
Day Dog Training Services
What Is Day Training?
Ever throw up your hands and say, “I just cannot with you today” and looking at your dog chewing on your second pair of running shoes?? You’re here, so I guess the answer is yes. Just so happens, we’re really good at working with dogs, even the ones that hold grudges against running shoes. Let us take the leash, and you take a walk without getting your shoulder pulled out of the socket. Day training lets our trainer set you up for success, and then we teach the good human in this equation to build on the dog training foundation built by Good Human Dog Training.
DAY TRAINING PHONE CONSULTATION
Before purchasing a day training package, we start with a 60-minute in-home evaluation to assess your dog’s behavior, discuss training goals, and create a customized training plan. This training program is tailored to meet your dog’s specific needs, and we highly recommend reviewing the Day Training Section of our website.
Service Dog Training Services
What Is Service Dog Training?
We offer in-person and online training options for those who need the help of a service dog to mitigate a medical disability. Our multi-phase program covers dog behavior and training techniques for up to 30 different cues and a minimum of 3 service tasks.

Participating in a service dog training program is a labor of love and time. Before we embark on this journey together, we need to ensure that we’re a good fit for each other.
